Tailored Smoke was founded in 2015 by Preston Gray with a simple yet ambitious vision: to elevate the cigar experience through exceptional service, education, and hospitality. What began in the basement of Preston's home as an online cigar retailer and mobile cigar bar serving local events quickly gained a loyal following among cigar enthusiasts who appreciated a more personalized approach to premium cigars.

In 2016, that vision became a reality with the opening of the first Tailored Smoke Cigar Lounge in Uptown Charlotte's iconic EpiCentre. Situated on an outdoor patio beneath the stairway, the lounge introduced a unique concept centered on customer experience rather than simply selling cigars. From the very beginning, the company was guided by a clear mission: "Tailored Smoke Cigar Lounge will be known throughout the industry for providing an unparalleled cigar experience for each customer, at each event, and at each location. Our courteous, knowledgeable, and professional staff will be second to none." That commitment continues to serve as the foundation of the brand today.

Over the years, Tailored Smoke has grown from a local startup into a recognized and expanding lifestyle brand. Today, the company operates its corporate flagship lounge in Concord, North Carolina, along with franchise locations in Newport News, Virginia; Suffolk, Virginia; and Birmingham, Alabama.
